We take the high-speed rail (about 5 hours), which is comfortable, heated, and offers stunning views of the snowy landscape.
This tour is best for ages 10-20, but families with younger children can also join with parental supervision.
Beijing is around -5 to 5°C, Harbin -25 to -10°C. With proper thermal gear (we provide a packing list), it's very manageable and part of the adventure!
